Optoisolators are components used to transfer electrical signals across two isolated circuits. The TCLT1105 optoisolator is one of Synergy’s range of Transistor Photovoltaic Output types. It provides high-speed switching performance with exceptional noise suppression characteristics and is ideal for use in high-speed digital circuits with digital logic and other applications, such as audio circuits, where signal integrity and noise immunity are essential.

Application Field

The TCLT1105 is a wide use device and is suitable in a range of applications where electrically isolated I/O signals contain digital logic or low speed analog signals. Working Principle

The TCLT1105 is designed with an active semiconductor output element. This element is integrated into an optically isolated package, which utilizes an LED as the light source. When the LED is illuminated a small voltage will flow through the connection between the LED and the semiconductor element. This small voltage will cause a small current to flow through the circuit and will the activate the output of the optoisolator. The LED can be connected to a power supply, external sensor or switch to provide the necessary input signal.

The TCLT1105 is designed to have a low OFF-state current, which helps prevent power consumption, and keep the system electronics free from interference. This optoisolator is also designed with a fail-safe feature which provides a low current output when the LED is not illuminated. This will result in the output of the device being LOW when it is not receiving an input signal.

The TCLT1105 is also designed with an exceptionally high common mode noise rejection ratio. This ensures the optoisolator can adequately isolate sensitive circuits from electrical noise, thereby protecting the functionality of the system.
