Working Principle:

The TEA1993TS/1H uses a pulse width modulation (PWM) control method to provide reliable output power. It uses an internal voltage-mode control loop to regulate the output voltage. A voltage divider connected to the feedback pin senses the output voltage and its output is compared to an internally generated reference voltage. If the output voltage is lower than the reference, the chip will increase the duty cycle of the PWM signal, causing more current to flow through the inductor. Conversely, if the output voltage is higher than the reference, the duty cycle will be decreased, causing less current to flow. This process continues until the output voltage is regulated.

The TEA1993TS/1H also features low voltage protection and thermal protection. Low voltage protection prevents the output voltage from falling below the regulated value, and thermal protection prevents the chip from overheating. This ensures reliable and stable operation even in extreme conditions.

In addition, the chip also features a soft start circuit, which gradually increases the duty cycle from 0 to the desired value at the start up. This prevents large inrush currents, which can potentially damage other components in the system.
