It contains two power transistors and an adjustable oscillator, which controls the duty cycle of the power transistors. The power transistors are connected in a switching configuration such that when the oscillator turns one of the transistors on, the other is turned off. The combination of the on/off switching of the transistors creates a PWM waveform, which is then applied to the output voltage.The device also contains an integrated voltage feedback loop which is used to regulate the output voltage. The output of the feedback loop is compared to a reference voltage, and then used to adjust the duty cycle of the PWM waveform.
