The TL594ING4 is a PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) DC-DC controller IC (Integrated Circuit) that isdesigned primarily for switching power supplies. It features a peak current-mode control architecture which offers the short loop response and the high light load efficiency that is characteristic of current-mode control systems. The TL594ING4 also features an operating range of up to 400kHz which allows designers to optimize designs for higher power and/or greater efficiency.

The TL594ING4 is able to operate in voltage mode or current mode, depending on the external pass transistor used. In its voltage mode of operation, the device has the ability to source or sink up to 0.3A of peak current with programmable on-time and off-time. This makes the TL594ING4 well-suited for driving power MOSFETs and other power switching devices. In its current mode of operation, the device can provide up to 0.4A of peak current for driving large capacitive loads with fast transient response.
