TL594IPWRG4 application field and working principle
TL594IPWRG4 is a DC-DC (direct current-direct current) switching power supply control integrated circuit developed by Texas Instruments. It can be used in a variety of DC-DC switching power supply circuits, such as linear regulators, pulse width modulators and low-power half cycles. The integrated circuit TL594IPWRG4 improves the application capability and electronic circuit integration performance of original chip. It can immediately generate and output 12V unregulated DC power supply. There\'s no need to use complicated feedback loop and external components. The switching frequency of the circuit is adjustable, and the output voltage is adjustable with the external resistor.
TL594IPWRG4 application fields are very wide, for example, communication power supply, computer power and audio frequency power supply, etc. The circuit has simple working principle, it can be divided into five stages. The first stage is input/output protective circuit, which reduces the over-voltage and over-current impact on chip and the feedback signal. The second stage is oscillator, it controls the working frequency of trigger signal. The frequency can be varied by the capacitor and resistor connected to the pin 7 and 8. The third stage is flip-flop, it converts the oscillator pulse into Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal. The pulse signal can be controlled to induce DC current. The fourth stage is output drive circuit, it amplifies the PWM signal and drives the switching FET in the fifth stage by this signal. The fifth stage is power output stage, which is composed of primary side power diode and FET. The power diode rectifies AC current and provides output current; the FET can stop the load current, and provide current to the load circuit.
The circuit is composed of 20 terminals, of which 2 are power terminals, 8 are input control terminals and 8 are output control terminals. Totally, the integrated circuit can receive 6 voltage inputs, 2 current inputs, 3 voltage outputs and 1 current output control signal. It can provide 50 watts continuous output power for circuit design. Moreover, the input range is 7V~20V, and it can provide up to 72V output. The unique workmanship of tiny chip makes it extremely suitable for size limited applications. Its error-tolerant operation, simple circuitry and basic protection can guarantee the stability and reliability of whole circuit design.
