Solid state relays are electronic switching devices that use solid-state components, such as transistors, thyristors, triacs, and MOSFETs, to switch electrical loads on and off. The TLP3121(F) solid state relay is a three-terminal device designed to provide reliable switching of AC and DC loads in a wide range of applications. The output side of the TLP3121(F) is a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch, meaning it has two contacts connected to the main terminal which can be switched on and off in order to control the electrical load.
The working principle of the TLP3121(F) is based on the Input voltage applied to the control terminal. By controlling the input voltage, it is possible to control the main terminal on and off. The relay will switch on when the input voltage reaches a certain voltage or current level and will switch off when the input voltage or current falls below the required level. This process is referred to as the “threshold voltage”.
Once the relay is switched on, the main terminal will remain closed until the input voltage or current returns to the threshold level. When the input voltage or current is interrupted, the main terminal will immediately open and the relay will disconnect the load.
