Optoisolators - Logic Output comprise of two components, an LED (light emitting diode) carrier circuit and an output transistor. The external LED is optically coupled to the output transistor, providing the isolation. The LED carrier circuit drives the LED for current regulation and current charging and discharging control, and the output transistor is used to control the phototransistor at the output. The TLP5701(D4,E) Optocoupler is one such example, commonly utilized for connecting a logic circuit to a circuit operating at a lower voltage and for input/output isolation of digital logic signals.
