Introduction
Isolators are gate drivers that are used to provide galvanic isolation between gate drivers and loads. They enable isolated, noise-proof control of high currents in the case of power converters with motor drives and in the field of motor control. TLP5772 are isolators specifically designed for gate drive applications in high-side N-channel MOSFETs and IGBTs.D4,E Application Field and Working Principle
The TLP5772 is specifically designed for D4,E application fields and/or higher see figure-1. In this mode, an 8-channel output is controlled from two separate connectors using two-phase PWM. This type of operation increases reliability and is more efficient when compared with single-phase PWM. This type of application reduces the amount of on-state resistance and provides lower switching losses. The TLP5772 uses a low-voltage isolation barrier, which helps to maintain low EMC emission levels. It allows for the transfer of energy (current/voltage) from one side of the device to another while maintaining galvanic isolation between two parts of a circuit. The device is designed to remain fully functional in environments up to 5. 0 GHz. The TLP5772 uses an isolated error amplifier, which amplifies the input voltage of the non-isolated side and transfers it to the isolated side, where it is used to drive the output transistor. This error amplifier is then used to generate the output voltage that is needed to achieve the desired PWM output. The TLP5772 is also designed with an integrated overvoltage protection circuitry, which activates at a certain pre-determined temperature to ensure that the output voltage will not exceed the maximum level in the event of a short circuit or other abnormal condition.Conclusion
