The TLP521-4XGB physically isolates two circuits, allowing them to be electrically independent and connect through the light transmission process. The device consists of two functional sections: an infrared light source that consists of a transistor- photovoltaic (TPV) output, and a light receiving rod. Its basic working principle lies in the transfer of information and power through the light-emitting diode (LED). When an electrical signal is applied to the transistor-photovoltaic output of the device, the signal travels across the device’s gap, and is received by the receiving rod, thus connecting the two circuits.In terms of application fields, the TLP521-4XGB is typically used for communication and measurement purposes and to protect system components from damage due to overload and short circuits. It is widely employed in a range of circuits such as AC/DC control circuits, medical and automotive equipment, communication systems, industrial power supplies and instrumentation.One of the major benefits of the TLP521-4XGB is the high degree of isolation it provides.
