The TLV320DAC3101 is an ultra low-power, single-supply, three-channel audio CODEC, that provides stereo line-level inputs, stereo line-level outputs, and a stereo headphone output. It supports a variety of digital and analog applications, such as portable audio, home theater systems, bi-directional data/audio applications, multi-channel digital-to-analog conversion, and multi-channel analog-to-digital conversion. The TLV320DAC311 also includes an integrated low-power stereo-speaker amplifier, and integrated PLL for high-frequency clock output from an MCLK source.

The TLV320DAC3101EVM-U was designed to be used as a high-performance audio evaluation platform for the TLV320DAC3101 Audio CODEC. The EVM has an integrated audio microphone, dual stereo line-level audio inputs, dual stereo line-level audio outputs, and an auxiliary mono input. The Auxiliary input can be used for various functions, including a sample rate converter, digital signal processor (DSP), voice recognition, and voice synthesis. The EVM also has an integrated headphone amplifier, an integrated digital-to-analog converter, and integrated audio analog-to-digital converter.

The EVM can be configured to allow simultaneous evaluation of the TLV320DAC3101 for both audio-inputs and audio-outputs when using the optional audio interface cable. The EVM is powered by a single 5Vdc power supply. The EVM board (compatible with IEEE-1149.1 JTAG connector) also includes an integrated 320-pin evaluation bus (Test Access Port), enabling easy connection of external test probes and source meters. The optional RoHS-compliant cable kit (available separately) contains an IEEE-1149.1 JTAG to DB25 connector cable, adapter board, and 7-12Vdc to 5Vdc power supply adapter.
