Whenever there is a need for an application or system to precisely compare two voltages or current levels for accurate comparison, linear comparators are used. Linear comparators are a form of voltage comparisons, but in addition to measuring the level, they have an output gap indication feature which further assists in making accurate comparisons. Linear comparators are used in a variety of systems, from consumer & industrial electronics, to computing systems, and automotive applications. The TLV3401IP linear comparator is an example of a linear comparator which is capable of highly precise voltage comparison.
