The TPD3S716-Q1EVM is a member of the TPD3S716 family of Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits from Texas Instruments. The TPD3S716-Q1EVM evaluation and demonstration board and kit enables designers to quickly evaluate the operation and performance of the TPD3S716-Q1EVM device in the target application. This board and kit offers a complete power line communications (PLC) network solution, equipped with connectors for acquiring waveforms and a board node interface connector for troubleshooting. It includes a shielded case for a network node, an isolated DC power supply and interface board for connecting to a PLC modem.
The TPD3S716-Q1EVM device is a quad 3-phase MOSFET driver designed to implement 3-phase inverters, converters, motor drives and other industrial motor control applications. This device features variable gate Outputs (VGOs) to provide a smooth gate transition, which can greatly reduce induced noise. This family of MOSFET drivers adopts a floating current source to provide fast short-circuit protection and reduce system cost. It comes in a low-profile 4mm x 4mm QFN package for improved thermal performance.
The working principle of the TPD3S716-Q1EVM is to provide high current/high voltage drive capability to MOSFETs in applications such as 3-phase inverters and converters.
