Despite its low capacitance, the TPD4E002DRL2 can dissipate up to 40 Amps of peak pulse current.

Working Principle of TPD4E002DRL2

The TPD4E002DRL2 is designed to protect a circuit from transients and over-voltage spikes. It contains a PN-junction diode connected in parallel between two pins of the datasheet package. This PN-junction diode acts like a switch and turns off when the voltage applied between the two pins exceeds a certain threshold. When the voltage exceeds the threshold, the junction quickly shuts off, blocking the current flow and protecting the circuit. Under normal operating conditions, the PN-junction diode remains closed, allowing current to flow.When an over-voltage surge occurs, the voltage across the two pins will increase rapidly.
