Working Principle of TPS22907YZTT

The TPS22617YZTT is a single channel power switch with a single linear regulator and is driven by a 3-pin control interface. This device is powered from a single-supply voltage for the entire device and power for the regulator output is sourced directly from the input voltage. This device features over-temperature protection, discontinuous frequency operation, adjustable oscillator frequency, short circuit protection, variable switching frequency and variable power mode operation.

Additionally, the device has an enable pin that allows the user to enable and disable the power switching and linear regulator. The enable pin also allows the user to standby the device to reduce power consumption without disabling the device.

The device has an integrated Power Path Management (PPM) control that enables the user to programme the operating power state of the power switch. PPM control allows the user to select between three different operating power states: active, stand by and low power mode.

The device also allows the user to control multiple power supplies independently, providing a total of four switching channels: two for the outputs of the linear regulator and two for the outputs of the power switch. Additionally, the user can program each of the switching channels independently, offering flexibility for various applications.

The device is protected against over-temperature and short-circuits, as well as provides reverse current protection and programmable power level detection. The TPS22617YZTT provides a very efficient power delivery and control solution for various applications including wearable, portable, automotive and industrial.
