The TPS2812P is a versatile, high voltage, high current MOSFET driver integrated circuit. It is a part of the TI\'s Power Driver (PD) product portfolio and belongs to the PWLEM and PWLEX subseries of Power Control Modules (PCMs). This driver is suited for a wide range of applications including AC inverters, DC/DC converters, motor control, automotive power trains, lighting, industrial equipment and power systems.

The TPS2812P provides MOSFET driver functionality and protection functionality for low voltage systems. It can drive a single low-side synchronous MOSFET or IGBT for switching, and can also manage up to three high-side MOSFETs for synchronous rectifier control. The IC contains several protection functions for over-voltage, over-current, under-voltage, and ground/system-shorts protection.

By monitoring Vds (drain-source voltage) when the low-side switch is on, the current sense circuit can measure the swept current and then be programmed with a threshold value.

The high-side drivers are controlled either by a logic signal or using a high-side PWM input. The logic signal can be used to turn on and off the selected MOSFET on the high-side and can also be used to select between synchronous rectification and linear mode. The PWM signal will provide a duty cycle based control of the selected MOSFET. This allows the TPS2812P to reduce the average current loss in the power switch, mitigating system heat dissipation.

The operating temperature range of the TPS2812P is -40°C to 125°C, and it is available in a QFN package with an exposed die pad. This IC is also designed to operate over a wide voltage range, from 4.5V to 15V. The TPS2812P is suitable for many different types of applications due to its low-side and high-side driver capabilities and protection features.
