The TPS3801K33DCKR is a single channel supervisor designed to monitor up to three power sources in systems operating with two sources (VIN1 and VIN2) and ensure proper sequencing during power-on reset. TPS3801K33DCKR supervisor is a single-channel device containing a voltage reference, comparator, hysteresis, output driver and reset timer in one package.The device operates in three modes: active, reset and inactive modes. In the active mode, the voltage reference and voltage thresholds are compared to monitor a target voltage. If the target voltage exceeds the preset threshold, the supervisor goes into a reset mode; otherwise, the comparator goes into an inactive mode where it will remain inactive until the target voltage goes out of this range. The reset timer triggers a reset pulse to reset the monitored IC or the whole system after the voltage continues to be above the preset threshold for a given time span.
Features of TPS3801K33DCKR
The TPS3801K33DCKR includes a slew-rate-controlled voltage reference, comparator, output and reset circuitry in a 2.8 mm × 2.8 mm package. The device is available in a push-pull, open-drain or user-selectable active-high or active-low output configuration. It offers a wide operating supply voltage range of 2.0 V to 12.0 V and also offers a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The built-in hysteresis prevents false triggering and also reduces the current consumption during operation.The device provides two voltage-sensing inputs, VIN1 and VIN2, to monitor, switch and reset up to three power sources. It offers a preset time delay between 20 μs and 1024 ms for resetting the monitored IC or the whole system after the voltage continues to be above the preset threshold for a given time span. The reset is de-asserted when the voltage drops below the reset deassert voltage. The device also offers an energize pin (EN) which allows the user to control the operation of the supervisor.
