Working Principle

When the applied voltage reaches the threshold of the TPS3831G33DQNR, it will send a reset signal to the target system and activate the microcontroller as well as reset all other peripherals.Basically, this device has two stages. The first stage is where voltage sensing is performed and the second stage is to generate the reset signal. First, the set voltage will be compared with the reference voltage. Reference voltage is taken from internal reference of the device and whose magnitude is fixed irrespective of the applied. If the applied voltage is higher than the reference voltage, then the voltage sensing stage is triggered and the internal comparator will provide a voltage sensitive output, which is then inverted by an inverter. This inverted output, after passing through a logic gate, will set a flip flop whose output is connected to the reset signal to the system.The flip flop output will go to the inactive state, due to the presence of the internal weak pull-down resistor, when the applied voltage falls below the reference voltage. This will reset the flip-flop, which in turn resets the target system.
