Working principle

The TPS3836H30DBVT consists of an CMOS analog controller, which controls the voltage threshold to detect power supply faults. With stable power supply, the output voltage stays high and the reset remains inactive. Any moment the power supply drops below a predefined threshold, the output voltage is forced low, triggering the reset signal. When the voltage is restored above the threshold, a blanking or hysteresis time period starts where the reset signal remains active. Once this blanking time elapsed, the output is forced high to deactivate the reset signal. During power up, the reset pin is active until the upper voltage threshold is crossed.

The reset delay time can be set by two external resistors connected to the terminals R1 and R2, modifying the threshold and blanking times. When the power supply voltage reaches the threshold voltage, the reset signal is triggered and held active until the reset timeout is elapsed; this reset time can be increased by raising the values of the resistor R1.the voltage at which the reset is triggered should also be changed from its nominal value by the resistor R2.
