Working Principle

The TPS70458PWP is a volt regulator controller with a designed bridge connected inductor-capacitor network, providing step-up, step-down and bi-direction capabilities with bidirectional continuous inductance. When the inductor current is zero, the converter entered the idle mode and output voltage is supplied with the input voltage thrust. When the inductor current must be increased, the switch will be driven to reduce the inductor current and the voltage across the inductor rises, resulting in high output voltage while input voltage is low. When the inductor current must be reduced, the switch will be driven to increase the inductor current and the voltage across the inductor falls, resulting in low output voltage while input voltage is low.

The TPS70458PWP feature advanced automatic pulse-width-modulated (PWM) control, which mproves input-to-output efficiency and reduces the output ripple. External compensation for output voltage, line and load regulation and transient response.
