Working Principle:

TPS7101QPW is a linear voltage regulator based on the standard internal architecture. It takes an input voltage (VIN) as its input and output a regulated voltage (VOUT). The LVR has a power-up control circuit, a main power control circuit, a series voltage reference, an error amplifier, a PWM controller, two MOSFETs and an output voltage latch. When VIN exceeds the UVLO threshold, the power control circuit enables the device and the internal Soft Start circuit provides a soft-start to the core. The error amplifier compares the output feedback voltage with the internal reference voltage. The output of the error amplifier is sent to the PWM controller to drive the output MOSFETs, which then regulate the output voltage.

When VIN is below the UVLO threshold, the power control circuit stops the internal action and the output is disabled, thus protecting the load from any over-voltage damage and the device from inrush current damage.
