It features a wide input voltage range (3 V to 24 V) and dropout voltage (595 mV at a load current of 100 mA) which translates into higher power savings in certain applications. Inside the evaluation board, the voltage regulator is connected to an array of voltage dividers to monitor both input and output voltages. Besides, it’s integrated with a two-phase current source and a thermal protection circuit to guard against current overload or thermal runaway.The evaluation board also includes a diagnostic LED and a power-on reset circuit to ensure reliable start-up behavior and constant operating parameters set by the regulator. In addition, the board is equipped with adjustable voltage setting jumpers and thermal shutdown protection that allows the LDO to be configured to the desired voltage level and to have its operating temperature range be adjusted to the particular application.In order to evaluate the TPS74301 voltage regulator, the TPS74301EVM-118 evaluation board needs to be connected with an isolated, multi-output (6V-9V) DC supply.
