Working Principle of TPS76828QPWP

TPS76828QPWP operates by taking power from the input voltage source and supplying a regulated output voltage. The LDO consists of an error amplifier and an output stage. During operation, the error amplifier compares the input and output voltages. If the input voltage is higher than the output voltage, the error amplifier will activate the output stage, switching small amounts of charge onto the output capacitor. This will increase the output voltage to the set voltage.If the input voltage is lower than the output voltage, the error amplifier will reduce the output voltage by activating the output stage and switching small amounts of charge away from the output capacitor. This will reduce the output voltage to the set voltage. This cycle continues as long as the load on the output voltage is maintained within the set parameters.

These safety features include current limiting, thermal shutdown foldback, UVLO (under-voltage lockout) and reversible over-current fault detection and protection.
