The Texas Instruments’ TPS76850QD is a fully integrated linear voltage regulator designed to optimize system power dissipation. It integrates a high efficiency, synchronous buck controller and a low noise, high PSRR linear regulator in a single package to provide a complete system power solution.

The TPS76850QD is a precision, low quiescent current, low-dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator. The device features Push-Pull Technology with no external components required. It offers superior output accuracy and load regulation, offering best-in-class performance. It is capable of delivering up to 0.8A of output current over a wide input voltage range of 3.3V to 5.0V, while maintaining low quiescent current of only 250uA.

The TPS76850QD also provides comprehensive system protection features including overload protection, thermal overload protection, and under-voltage lockout. Its current-mode architecture ensures stability over a wide range of operating frequencies and allows tight control of output voltage and frequency across all load conditions. The on-chip hiccup-mode short-circuit protection eliminates the need for external components to prevent over-current.

The TPS76850QD is offered in a small, 6-lead TSSOP package and is also available in a wide range of other packages, including MSOP8, MSOP6 and MSOP4.
