This regulator is equipped with a current mode feedback architecture and operates across a wide input voltage range from 1.5V to 6V. The regulator features a very low quiescent current and provides tighter line and load regulation with higher noise immunity. TPS7A1008PYKAR is exclusively designed for applications where minimum energy consumption and long battery life are critical parameters, such as portable calculators, tablets, portable electronic/gaming devices, cellular handsets and embedded systems.The device contains a linear regulator, a temperature compensation circuit, a low-power operating logic circuitry and a TRIM capacitor. The logic control circuit includes a logic input, an enable switch and an output status LED. The voltage regulator has a maximum output current of 1.8A while maintaining a low quiescent current. The internal temperature compensation circuit reduces the output voltage variation over temperature to 1mV/°C. The trim capacitor can be adjusted to set the desired output voltage. The output voltage of the device can be adjusted by two resistors, one connected between VIN and GND, the other connected between VOUT and GND. The internal pitch compensation circuit ensures stable voltage regulation even when large output current is drawn.The TPS7A1008YKAR offers several advantages over traditional linear regulators such as high power, low quiescent current, fast transient response, wide input voltage range and low output voltage deviation.
