TPS7A8300ARGWT is an ultra-low-noise, low-dropout linear regulator designed to provide an adjustable regulated output voltage to supply sensitive analog loads in space-constrained applications. This device is the perfect choice for systems that require the lowest noise output and fast transient response.

The TPS7A8300ARGWT operates over a wide input voltage range of 1.5V to 6.0V and supports output voltages as low as 0.8V. Its output current of up to 200mA can be fine-tuned by using an external resistor divider. An adjustable soft-start feature helps reduce in-rush current upon power-up and its low-dropout voltage ensures the device will provide a regulated voltage to the load in the most demanding conditions.

The working principle of TPS7A8300ARGWT is based on a voltage regulator topology that employs an internal reference voltage to regulate the output voltage. A feedback circuit is used to detect and correct any output voltage variations. The reference voltage is created by an on-chip bandgap circuit. This bandgap voltage is used to compare the output voltage to the input voltage by a voltage comparator. When the output voltage deviates from the reference voltage, the comparator output is used to adjust the output voltage. The correction is done by controlling the amount of current passing through a series pass element(an internal MOSFET) which is connected to the output pin. When the current is larger, the output voltage will be higher and when it is smaller the output voltage will be lower. With this principle, the TPS7A8300ARGWT can maintain a tight tolerance on output voltage and provide excellent noise performance over a wide temperature range.
