TS334IDT Application Field and Working Principle
Linear - Comparator is a major application field which can be applied to monitor and control the voltage state in a circuit, like a closed switch, while TS334IDT comparator has been around for more than 25 years, as one of the most popular comparator in Linear - Comparator family. It is widely applied in the most of control systems, providing an efficient configuration and reliable performance for not just controlling the voltages, but also for detection, evaluation and activation. Working principle of TS334IDT originated from the two-operand constructions. It works on the method of taking two signals as the two inputs, of opposite polarities, from a single circuit, evaluating the difference between them in terms of their saturation voltages to generate the output. This is illustrated in the following diagram, where the components of the circuit are connected to the two inputs of the TS334IDT, along with its output.The two inputs of TS334IDT would receive signals one and two respectively, comparing two input voltages at the two sides of the circuit. The direction of the voltage flow is determined by the inverting input. The non inverting input takes the voltage from the positive terminal of the power supply and the positive terminal of the load. Both the positive and negative terminals of the power supply are connected respectively to the positive and negative terminals of the load. Thus, when the positive and negative voltage of the power supply are both positive, the non-inverting input voltage is positive and the receiving terminal of the load will be positive, allowing the output of the comparator to be high. On the other hand, when the voltage is negative, the non-inverting input voltage would be negative and the receiving terminal of the load would be negative, with the output becoming low. The main feature of the TS334IDT is the Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) which is the ratio between the allowable input voltage and output voltage of the device. This allows the comparator to reject any unintended noise, providing high accuracy and precision while providing quick conversion. The TS334IDT also has an open-collector output, which is a type of transistor output where the collector terminal is open to the circuit. This feature allows for easier integration of a pull-up resistor for an active-high output, minimizing the size and power consumption of the comparator. The TS334IDT is also known for its robust protection against voltage surges, ensuring its protection from over-voltage and under-voltage conditions.
