Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, also known as aluminum electrolytes, are a type of electrolytic capacitor with an aluminum oxide layer used as the electrolyte. They are generally of cylindrical construction and consist of two electrodes, one of which is separated by a dielectric layer of oxide-coated aluminum foil, the other being a liquid electrolyte.
