Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a type of capacitor that uses an electrolyte to achieve a higher capacitance than other capacitor types. Invented in the late 1940s, aluminum electrolytic capacitors are mainly used in power electronics, computers, telecommunications, process control and automotive industries.
