The TZM5256C-GS18 is a single zener diode with quick surface mount dynamic operation. It features a low reverse voltage of 18V and a maximum reverse current of 125 mA. This diode is designed with a maximum power rating of 500 mW at a rated temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. It has an excellent zener voltage accuracy and an IR of 7.5 ohms, making it an ideal solution for more precise circuit designs.
When used as a voltage regulator, this diode is designed to regulate or maintain a constant voltage by allowing excess electricity to be diverted or “bled” off when the circuit voltage exceeds the specified voltage. The TZM5256C-GS18 zener diode works by allowing current to flow in one direction when the circuit potential is below the zener breakdown voltage and then begins to conduct in the reverse direction when the zener breakdown voltage is reached.
