The TZX2V7A-TAP is a single Zener diode, commonly used in diode circuits. This diode operates on two principles: reverse breakdown, and reverse bias conduction. In both cases, the voltage across the diode, known as the reverse bias voltage, creates a large current in the opposite direction of the normal current flow in the diode.Reverse Breakdown occurs when the reverse bias voltage becomes large enough that the Zener breakdown occurs. At this point, a large current is created in the reversed direction. This current allows the reverse bias voltage to be maintained at a level, which is known as the “Zener voltage”, or “Breakdown voltage”.The second principle is reverse bias conduction, which happens when the reverse bias voltage gets too small. At this point, the diode starts to conduct and creates a current, which allows the reverse bias voltage to stay low. This low voltage is known as the “Forward voltage”, or “Knee Voltage”.The TZX2V7A-TAP is used in a variety of applications, such as in RF circuits, power supplies, and other applications where Zener diodes are required. It is generally used in order to provide a positive output of the diode, or to provide a voltage reference. In RF circuits, it is often used to provide an adjustable DC bias in order to properly match an antenna’s impedance.In power supply applications, Zener diodes are used in order to regulate the voltage across a circuit. This is achieved by connecting two Zener diodes in inverse parallel to each other. When a current flows through the circuit, the voltage is regulated by the difference between the two Zener voltages. This enables the circuit to be used in applications where the input voltage is not constant or the load varies.The TZX2V7A-TAP is capable of dissipating up to 0.5W of power and its operating temperature range is from -55°C to +125°C.
