Working Principle of UAS2D560MHD Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

The UAS2D560MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitors are constructed with an anode made of aluminum plate, an electrolyte and a cathode made of aluminum oxide. The electrolyte is formed by impregnating the capacitor with an electrolyte gel.

The capacitor works on the principle of electrolysis. When the capacitor is charged, the anode creates positively charged oxide ions that move through the electrolyte and are attracted to the cathode. As the ions move from the anode, the electrolyte creates a negative charge at the anode which is equal in magnitude to the positive charge at the cathode. This creates a potential difference across the capacitor plates. The capacitance is equal to the charge divided by the potential.
