Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AECs) are widely used in a range of electronic applications. These devices are composed of a number of aluminum layers that are separated and insulated by a thin sheet of a dielectric material. AECs are capable of storing energy in a financial range from less than 1 nF to 1000 F. They are also characterized by having relatively high levels of capacitance in a given space, low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and ESR frequency dispersion.The UBT2C101MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a capacitive element which is suitable for various uses, such as energy storage, filtering, and energy conversion. It is a snap-in surface mount device with a rated voltage of 10V and a maximum rated capacitance of 1000µF. The device is composed of an aluminum case, featuring a base of metalized anode foil and vented anode and cathode around it. An alumina ceramic dielectric layer is coated onto the inner surfaces of the case and a non-solid electrolyte fills the gap between the anode and cathode.The UBT2C101MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitor has a wide range of applications, such as battery backup and power-up/power-down systems, oscillators and timing circuits, electrolytic suppression circuits, bridge circuits, audio amplifiers and auto start circuits. It is also suitable for a variety of industries including automotive, medical and telecommunications.The working principle of the UBT2C101MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitor is essentially the same as any other capacitor. It stores energy which is made available when the capacitor is connected to a circuit. As the capacitor charges, a voltage is created across the two terminals. This voltage is proportional to the capacitance, and is known as the "Rated Voltage". When connected to the appropriate input source, the capacitor will charge up to this given voltage. As current flows through the capacitor, it gradually discharges its charge until it reaches a steady voltage.The energy stored in a UBT2C101MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitor is proportional to the capacitance and voltage applied across its terminals. This is referred to as "Stored Energy" or "Capacitance". The stored energy is determined by multiplying the capacitance by the non-linear voltage-squared (V²). Stored energy is released as current when the capacitor is connected to a circuit.As with all capacitors, the UBT2C101MHD has two terminals which are the anode (positive end) and cathode (negative end). Once the capacitor is charged up to its maximum rated voltage, it will then discharge as current flows through it and back into the circuit. This is due to the electrical field within the anode and cathode molecules, which is created when a charge is applied.The UBT2C101MHD aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a reliable and versatile device which can be used in a number of applications. With its high level of capacitance in a given space, low ESR, and ESR frequency dispersion, it is an ideal choice for many types of power supplies, energy storage, timing circuitry, sound systems, and more.
