Aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AECs) are widely used in a range of electronic applications. These devices are composed of a number of aluminum layers that are separated and insulated by a thin sheet of a dielectric material. AECs are capable of storing energy in a financial range from less than 1 nF to 1000 F.
