UC385TDKTTT-1G3 is a three-terminal adjustable linear voltage regulator. It belongs to the linear voltage regulator family and is mainly used for voltage regulators, power management circuit, and automotive electronics applications.

Working Principle

UC385TDKTTT-1G3 use PNP bipolar transistors to take advantage of the good linear voltage regulation properties of such devices, providing a precision voltage regulation system for current levels up to 2 A with a relatively minimal number of external components.

The output voltage VOUT of a UC385TDKTTT-1G3 device is determined by the ratio of two resistors—the adjustment resistor R2 and the series resistor R1. Resistors R1 and R2 establish a voltage divider loop, whose output voltage is applied to the non-inverting input of the internally constructed error amplifier. This voltage divider is usually connected between the output terminal and the reference terminal, although it could be connected between the reference terminal and ground.

The UC385TDKTTT-1G3 device has an internal voltage reference source. Internally, it compares the reference voltage to the divider voltage in order to maintain a constant output voltage.
