The UCC28063EVM-723 is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit specifically designed to evaluate the features of the UCC28063 PFC controller from Texas Instruments. This convenient and easy to use evaluation module comes with a wide range of features for evaluating and demonstrating the performance of the UCC28063 PFC controller.The UCC28063EVM-723 features a 4-phase interleaved PFC converter topology that provides high-performance power factor correction (PFC) for demanding power application requirements. The evaluation board also features a low-noise front-end PFC boost converter with programmable input/output voltage and current; a low-ripple current-mode buck-type synchronous rectifier; and a digitally programmable output power factor control loop. It also features digital fault protection features including over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, and over-temperature protection.The UCC28063EVM-723 can be used for a wide range of applications that require reliable power factor correction. It is suitable for use in consumer applications such as televisions, displays, and mobile phones; industrial applications such as machines, robots, and process control systems; and home appliances such as air conditioners, washing machines, and dishwashers.The working principle of the UCC28063EVM-723 is based on the principle of power factor correction. The module uses a 4-phase interleaved PFC converter topology to convert an unregulated AC source to a regulated DC output. It also includes a digital current-mode power factor controller (PFC) and several digital protection features.The PFC controller has four main control blocks. The first three blocks are the input current measurement block, output voltage reference block, and power factor controller block. The fourth block is the digital protection block which provides over-voltage, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection.The UCC28063EVM-723 is an ideal evaluation and demonstration board and kit for evaluating and demonstrating the features of the UCC28063 PFC controller from Texas Instruments. It is suitable for a wide range of applications that require reliable power factor correction and can be used to evaluate the performance of the UCC28063 PFC controller under different conditions.
