The UCC28610D is robust offline switcher that provides an integrated flyback controller, programmable current limit and one digital control pin. It is a high speed component ideal for offline flyback converters operating up to 100KHz and above. It features an adjustable switching frequency up to 500kHz, integrated 700V power MOSFET and operate without an opto-isolator. With a programmable over-current limit, high level of integration and small physical size, the UCC28610D is the perfect switcher for isolated power applications.

Working principle of the UCC28610D, is to sense the primary side (input voltage) and based on the sensed input voltage the integrated control loop generates a constant output voltage in the secondary side (output voltage). This is accomplished by switch the power MOSFET on and off at high frequency, to regulate the output voltage during all line input conditions. This whole process is termed as pulse width modulation. The actual frequency of switching and duty cycle is determined based on load regulation required by the application.

The UCC28610D is capable of providing regulated power from a wide range of AC/DC input sources. It\'s suitable to be used in switch mode power supply designs, such as Adapter, LED’s, LED Driver, and Isolated DC/DC Converters; or even in applications like Split AC Drive, DC Motor Drives, PLC power supply and Isolated Power supply management.
