The UCC3809EVM evaluation board enables customers to quickly evaluate Texas Instruments’ UCC3809 dual-frequency resonant controller for offline high-voltage AC/DC power supplies and dc/dc converters. The evaluation module includes a current sense amplifier, a load switch for power savings, an RC snubber to suppress ringing, an optocoupler signal link, and a buffered-18 V peak output signal for measuring the gate driver frequency.

The UCC3809EVM evaluation board is a comprehensive solution for fast evaluation of Texas Instruments’ UCC3809 dual-frequency resonant controller. It consists of a resonant topology based on the UCC3809, a power-saving load switch, a current sense amplifier, a RC snubber circuit to suppress ringing, an optocoupler signal link, and a buffered signal output for measuring the gate driver frequency.

The UCC3809 is a high-performance, low-noise resonant controller providing excellent power efficiency for offline AC/DC power supplies and dc/dc converters. Its ability to switch between fixed-frequency and Spread Spectrum Mode control provides precise frequency control with noise immunity throughout the operating range, while its adjustable jumper enables the user to fine-tune the frequency based on the application.
