The UCC3580N-4 is a highly integrated power management IC (PMIC) that combines both AC-DC and DC-DC converters. The UCC3580N-4 is a two-stage power management IC that combines an AC-DC (PFC) stage and a DC-DC stage. The AC-DC stage features a boost PFC pre-regulator which rectifies the input voltage and regulates it to the desired level. The PFC stage also provides current-limited current protection and voltage monitor output. The DC – DC stage is responsible for producing the multiple power rails. It consists of a driver stage, an oscillator, a power MOSFET, and a power transformer. The power MOSFET is driven by the driver stage, and the output voltage of the power transformer is dependent on the transformer turns ratio, the primary MOSFET duty cycle, and the input voltage. The duty cycle is determined by the oscillator frequency and ramp up/down voltage. The duty cycle can be adjusted through an external resistor. Additionally, the UCC3580N-4 offers current-limited current protection and remote on/off control.Conclusion
