The UCD9244ARGCT is a high-performance PMIC - Power Management - Specialized Integrated Circuit (IC) designed specifically for automotive applications. The device integrates a number of features such as power sequencing, over-temperature protection, voltage monitoring and thermal management, along with fault protection in the form of under-voltage lockout (UVLO) and overvoltage lockout (OVLO). It also features a number of configurable features such as adjustable current limits, high-voltage sync clamp, and a precision controller to regulate all outputs.

The UCD9244ARGCT is the first automotive PMIC which offers the highest integration of low voltage (1.0V to 45V) and switching frequency up to 40MHz, resulting in a wide range of applications particularly for automotive lighting, infotainment and powertrain systems. It is optimized for applications that require high power density, high efficiency and does not require an external inductor. The device integrates a buck converter, two DC/DC converters with integrated gate drivers, an adjustable high-side low-side switch, isothermal sequencing and fault protection, and a voltage monitoring system. The UCD9244ARGCT device offers full synchronous rectification, eliminating the need for external MOSFETs, thereby reducing board space and cost.

The UCD9244ARGCT has three integrated, fixed-frequency and phase synchronous buck converters with adjustable current limit and voltage tolerance for varying applications and conditions. The device includes a programmable high-side gate driver, an adjustable high-side low-side switch, isothermal power sequencing and fault protection. The device offers a multi-current limiting feature which allows the user to set multiple current limits based on the application needs. The UCD9244ARGCT also includes a unique voltage monitoring system which includes a high/low voltage, high/low temperature and over-voltage lockout, as well as an adjustable slew rate for monitoring the outputs and fault protection, tailored to each individual application. In order to provide a comprehensive protection solution, the UCD9244ARGCT incorporates several interfaces such as an I2C, CAN, LIN and a SPI for easy integration with a wide range of system control boards.
