Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used components in electronics. It is mainly composed of three parts: can, electrodes and electrolyte. The positive electrode adopts aluminum foil, which is oxidized to form a uniform porous oxide film on its surface, and the negative electrode generally uses carbon or aluminum. The electrolyte consists of an arc-suppressing agent. The role of this component is to maintain the charge balance of the capacitor and realize its effect through shut-off.

EUS1E331MHM1TO aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a surface-mount capacitor with a rated voltage of 16V, a capacitance of 330 μF and an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C. This type of capacitor is mainly used in filtering, frequency and signal coupling to reduce EMI/EMC (electrical and magnetic interference) effect. It is also used in high-frequency switching power supply and high-voltage circuit energy storage.

The working principle of EUS1E331MHM1TO aluminum electrolytic capacitor is that when the capacitor is connected to an AC power source, the capacitor shell (can) is connected to the negative electrode, and the internal structure is shown in Figure 1. Since one of the electrodes of the capacitor is a porous aluminum foil, when the voltage is applied, an electrolyte (liquid) is formed around the aluminum foil electrode. The electrolyte then attracts positive ions to the aluminum foil. Under the force of voltage, an electric field is formed in the capacitor. Due to the property of electric field, positive charges are attracted by the negative terminal, and the negative charges will move to the positive terminal, thus forming the equivalent of a storage device.

As shown in Figure 2, when current flows through the capacitor, electrons will flow from the negative terminal to the positive terminal, while the positive ions will flow in opposite direction, and a certain amount of static charge will be stored in the capacitor. This electric charge is the ability of capacitor to store energy. After the capacitor is charged, the electrostatic capacity will remain until the voltage drops to zero, so that there is no accumulation of energy.

The unique structure of EUS1E331MHM1TO aluminum electrolytic capacitor can effectively remove high-frequency noise generated by switching power supply and reduce the electromagnetic interference of the whole system. In addition, its high temperature stability and long-term reliability make it widely used in various fields. Taking its wide temperature range and large capacitance into consideration, it can be used in automotive electronics, consumer electronic products and industrial control system, which play a significant role in power adjusting and energy storage.
