UFT20020 is a new family of integrated power rectification diodes specially designed for automotive, consumer and industrial applications. It combines the industry-leading low static and dynamic on-resistance characteristics, superior surge current handling capability and the high temperature performance. The UFT20020 family can offer low voltage drop, low leakage current and high efficiency, which is perfectly suited for rectification and power supply circuits.
UFT20020 application field and working principle can be divided into two categories: direct current and alternating current. With regard to direct current, UFT20020 can be applied in rectifying power rectification diodes and in application field such as ESD (electrostatic discharge) suppressors, transient voltage suppressors, voltage regulators and converters. In alternating current, UFT20020 can be used in high frequency rectifiers, resonant converters, asynchronous circuits and so on.
For a direct current application, UFT20020 works as an efficient rectifying diode that converts alternating current into direct current. It is mainly consisted of a P-type and an N-type semiconductor. The P-type semiconductor can be connected to a Positive (V+) power source. Under this setup, the N-type semiconductor can be connected to a Negative (V-) power source. When the forward voltage drops across the PN junction, it can suppress the negative voltage and make the circuit works as a diode.
For an alternating current application, UFT20020 can be used as a high frequency rectifier. Although UFT20020 is mainly used for rectifying power rectification diodes, but it can also work as high frequency rectifiers. Under this setup, the alternating current will be separated into two parts by the rectifier, which are the positive and negative parts. The positive part will be rectified and the negative part will be suppressed by the PN junction.
Besides, UFT20020 can also be applied in arrays to perform voltage regulation, low harmonic distortion and other power management applications.
