Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are mainly divided into three types: screw type, stud type and snap-in type. The UHA1H100MHD belongs to the snap-in type. The micro-metallic film is called a "snap-in" type because the "snap-in" type capacitor hole or terminal is pushed into the PCB board. Because of its small size, excellent ripple current carrying capacity and low equivalent series resistance (ESR), UHA1H100MHD is widely used in applications such as switching power supplies, power smoothing filters, UPS, LED backlight power supplies, and computer peripheral power supplies.
UHA1H100MHD Application Field
The UHA1H100MHD is a snap-in type aluminum electrolytic capacitor designed for applications where space is limited. It is made of aluminum foil as an anode, manganese dioxide (MnO2) as an electrolyte, and metal foil as a cathode. It is mainly used in:1. DC power supplies: capacitors are used to reduce voltage ripple, create a stable voltage supply for the load, and add capacitors in parallel to increase capacitance and improve performance.2. DC-DC converters: capacitors can be used as a power filter stage to improve output power, reduce voltage and current ripple, reduce noise, and increase the current carrying capacity of the switch circuit.3. Battery Chargers: The capacitor can be used as a power filter stage and ripple current isn’t required when the filter capacitor is used in parallel with an inductor.4. AC motor drive circuits: The capacitor is used as a power stabilizing filter or decoupling filter. The working principle of the UHA1H100MHD can be explained using the basic analogy of a garden hose. The aluminum foil is like the inner wall of the garden hose, and the MnO2 is like the rubber hose. The metal film acts like a valve at the end of the garden hose. When the voltage is applied to the aluminum foil, electric charge flows from the aluminum foil to the MnO2, similar to the water that flows through a garden hose. This electric charge is stored and responds to the applied voltage. Moreover, when current is applied to the metal layer, ions are generated, releasing electrons.
