Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, also known simply as aluminum caps, are one of the most widely used and important components in various industries. They are ubiquitous and found in nearly every device that operates either autonomously or in combination with external systems. UltralLow-ESR2H3R9MNL1GS is a polarization-controlled type of aluminum electrolytic capacitor, featuring very low ESR and high ripple current capacity. This capacitor is a special form of an electrolytic capacitor and its basic design and construction is similar to any other type of capacitor.

Application Field

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in a variety of industrial applications, typically as energy storage components in power supplies and energy management systems. One of the most common uses of these capacitors is in regulated power supply circuits for powering AC and DC motors. This type of capacitor is also used in applications such as rectifiers, frequency converters and AC inverters. Working Principle

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are constructed from two metal foils, an anode and a cathode, placed in an electrolyte solution. When voltage is applied across the electrodes, ions in the electrolyte pass through the oxide film and form an electric field across the electrodes. This electric field stores energy. A dielectric is applied to the electrodes to allow even more energy to be stored.

In the case of the UL2H3R9MNL1GS type of aluminum electrolytic capacitor, the dielectric is made from Tantalum, and the electrolyte solution consists of acetic acid and aluminum sulfate. The anode is formed from Tantalum (hence the name "Tantalum capacitor"), which has a much higher dielectric constant than the other components.
