An electrolytic capacitor is comprised of two metal plates that are separated by an electrolyte, usually in the form of a thin foil strip. When direct current is applied, one of the plates is positively charged, while the other is negatively charged. The electric field resulting from the electric charge supports an electrical charge on both sides of the electrolyte, thereby forming a capacitor. Ceramic capacitors, on the other hand, are formed by two ceramic or plastic plates surrounded by a dielectric material. The dielectric material will act as a bridge between the two plates, allowing electrical charges to flow between them.The UMV1H4R7MFD1TE combines the advantages of both electrolytic and ceramic capacitors to provide superior performance. Its electrolytic construction provides excellent rate capacitance stability, excellent density of capacitance and a low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance). At the same time, its ceramic construction provides excellent ripple current characteristics, high volume storage capacity, excellent dielectric strength and long life.
