The anode foil and the separator are wound together, and the electrolyte is contained inside and around the wound element. When an electric current flows, it causes a chemical reaction between the separator, the electrolyte, and the anode foil. This reaction generates a large electric field and stores electrical energy.At the same time, attenuation of current and electric field is provided by the electrolyte, which counteracts the effects of oxidation and corrosion. This allows for extended life of the capacitor.
