Working Principle

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors have several layers inside them, including a positive microfiber paper that has an aluminum foil conductor on each face. This forms the two plates for the capacitor. An electrolyte of organic solvent is spread over the aluminum foil to provide the electrical connection between the plates. When a voltage higher than the minimum activation voltage is applied, an electric field is formed which causes the positive current to flow from the negative terminal to the positive electrode and creates a deposit at the anode, known as pseudocapacitance.

The UPM2G010MPD1TD is equipped with a special construction housed in an epoxy resin sealed cylinder with a thermal break structure. This construction maintains structural integrity in high temperature applications, which is why the component features a maximum operating temperature of 105°C. Furthermore, its proprietary construction helps to improve the durability of the capacitor, while its lead-free construction and Pb-free terminals makes this capacitor fully compatible with all lead-free reflow-soldering processes.
