Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are one of the most common types of electrolytic capacitors due to their good electrical performance, large capacity, and wide application range. The UPS1A102MPD is a high-density aluminum electrolytic capacitor developed by TDK in the capacitor industry.

The UPS1A102MPD aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a surface-mount type. Its main feature is that it can work stably under high temperatures and wide temperature ranges, and has good high-temperature characteristics. It is especially suitable for use in high temperature and shock resistance conditions. Its nominal capacitance is 100μF and it can be customized according to customer requirements. The rated voltage is 16VDC and the maximum voltage is 20VDC. It can be applied in a wide range of areas such as AC adapters, power supplies, computers, automotive electronics, and motor control.

The working principle of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is based on the electrical double-layer effect of an electrolyte. It is composed of two half cells that use aluminum foils as its electrodes. The electrolyte is a paste made of aluminum oxide and electrolytes such as ammonium borate, forming a three-dimensional electrical double layer on the oxide film. In the positive half cell of the electrolytic capacitor, the aluminum foil is anode and the oxide film acts as the insulating layer and the electrolyte acts as the semiconductor. The negative half cell is the opposite. When a voltage is applied, the positive ions are attracted to the anode and the negative ions are attracted to the cathode, thus forming the electrical double layer. The electrical double layer structure is very thin, the capacitance is very high, and its capacitance value can reach thousands of μF.

The aluminum electrolytic capacitor has a large capacity, stable electrical performance and a wide application range in various electronic products such as laptops, mobile phones, digital cameras and automobile electronic systems.
