Working PrincipleUPW1J391MHH aluminum electrolytic capacitors work on the principle of electrolysis. It is composed of a metal plate, a separator, and an electrolyte. The metal plate is made of aluminum foil, which is treated by special processes, and its surface is therefore hydrophilic. The separator is usually made of paper or pressboard. The electrolyte is a mixture of sulfuric acid and water. The electrolyte in the tank forms a dipole between the two electrodes. When electric power is applied, the cations flow to the negative electrode, and electrons move to the positive electrode, forming a large number of charged particles in both the anode and the cathode. The separator permits only ions to pass through, thus preventing a short circuit between the opposite ends of the electrode. The metal plate with the charged particles forms an electrostatic field, and charges of a certain potential accumulate on the surface of the metal plate.
