One of the most popular types of capacitors today is the UVR1V102MHD Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor.The UVR1V102MHD Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor comes in an axial leaded package, making it an ideal solution for automated placement applications. The grounded anode design also helps to reduce the risk of failure due to contact with the board. The body of the capacitor is constructed from a combination of anodized aluminum and stainless steel, which provides excellent strength and durability.The UVR1V102MHD\'s working premise is relatively simple. On the one side of the capacitor, there is an electrolyte that is typically made up of a mixture of sulfuric acid and water, while on the other side there is a pair of oxide layers sandwiched between a pair of metalized layers. When a voltage is applied, the oxide layers become polarized, thus setting up an electric field across the dielectric. This electric field creates an opposing electric field in the opposite direction, which then causes a strong attraction between the molecules of the electrolyte. This attraction causes a buildup of ions between the two plates, thus providing an electrostatic field.The resulting electric field serves several purposes. In the most basic sense, it provides a means of storing electrical energy for later use. This stored energy can then be used to power a wide variety of electronic circuits and devices. Additionally, aluminum electrolytic capacitors serve to reduce the amount of high frequency noise that can travel through the circuit.
