The V26MLA1206T is a metal oxide varistor, or a voltage-dependent resistor (VDR), which is commonly used to protect circuits against transient voltage surges. It works by redirecting and absorbing excess current when a voltage spike occurs in a circuit, preventing its destructive effects from reaching the vulnerable components of the electronic device. The varistor is also known as a Transorb, and is a key component in transient voltage suppression (TVS) solutions.

The V26MLA1206T is an epoxy-encased, surface mount varistor with a 1206 footprint. It is a MOV, or a Metal Oxide Varistor, which is a temperature-sensitive, non-linear device with a PTC (positive temperature coefficient) characteristic that is designed to protect against electrostatic discharge. Its characteristics and small size make it suitable for a variety of applications in consumer electronics, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace, and medical devices. Its main advantages are its high energy dissipation, low leakage current, and enhanced ESD protection.
