A Varistor (VDR), Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV), and Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) are three different kinds of surge suppressors that protect a device from over-voltage, usually caused by lightning strikes or other electrical transients. The VDR07H275TSE is an example of a TVS.

TVSs are used to absorb ESD pulses and high-energy transients quickly. This is achieved by quickly and responsively clamping a voltage to a safe level.
